“Creatures”
This latest drawing, made on some printer paper with a set of black illustration pens, took a little under a month of off-on work to complete. Inspired by the facial deconstructions in the last drawing, I decided to create something that consisted entirely of various faces and beings—specifically, faces and beings that vaguely look like they were created by someone on acid. Although people sometimes think I have to be on acid to create the art that I do, I am typically not on acid when creating art. So to get into the mindset into someone who is on acid, I decided to listen to a bunch of psychedelic/experimental rock in hopes of inspiring weird imagery in my head. (Also, some of the entities here are merely reused from that last drawing.)
By both accident and design, the imagery here comes from all sorts of angles—and occasionally even changes depending on your perspective. To prevent anyone from straining their neck attempt to look at this upside-down, I also have a version of this picture rotated 180°.
I don’t think the details and intricacies of the image really come across in the 500px picture above, so I recommend going go to the post page and clicking on the image for a higher-resolution version.
