The Epitome of Profundity

Twentysomething. Still not too good with self-summary.

2012 Republican Presidential Debate is suffering from a lot of the same problems as a lot of these other cult television series. It seems like this show has been on for so long that it has outlasted the plausibility of the overarching arc or premise of the entire show. In the first few episodes, there was a palpable energy and the insanity was mildly appealing, but now it just feels like this forced, monotonous series of rhetorical non-sequiturs. The actors are largely dealing with the same material every week, so it doesn’t even seem like they give a damn anymore. Someone as talented as Jon Huntsman is too good for this show, and I never really understood why he joined the cast of 2012 Republican Presidential Debate. Also, those weekly guest stars are not even that interesting anymore—Bret Baier? Who cares about Bret Baier? Can’t you spice it up a little bit? Nic Cage is always available!
