Barack Obama has never fired a gun? → regularfolksunited.com

soupsoup:

onionvolcano:

(via randyhaddock)

This is terrible. Next you’ll be saying he never grew a mullet.

Nice attempt at (racist) humor there.

Call me crazy but I would hope for the Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States to know how to handle a gun. I honestly don’t know how you make it to 47 without ever handling a gun. Especially someone who had aspirations of leading the most powerful Armed Forces of the world.

Randy, you would be shocked to learn that not everyone has lived the same life you have and many people have no desire to ever hold a gun in their hands or fire one.

Correct me if i’m wrong but the Constitution does not require our Commander-in-Cheif the ability or desire to fire one in order to hold the highest office. After the last eight years, I actually prefer it.

I think if people want a gun to defend themselves they should have the right to do so, and I think most gun laws are ridiculous because criminals will get their hands on them regardless.

However I do not like guns, and see them as a necessary evil. I know how to fire a gun and can use one if necessary, but I sure as hell don’t want to.

The name of the website cracks me up too. “Regular folks.” The right does not have a monopoly on ‘regular folks’ and I think the past election proves that.

Lets not forget Joe Biden will pop a cap in anyone who tries to take away his guns. Joe Biden is not one to be flexed with.

Socialism, control of the media, and gun control seem to be the biggest, most irrational fears of the right. I’m willing to bet none of those fears come true over the next four years. You have bigger more important issues to worry about, along with the rest of us, you should be focusing your passion on those.

Referendum

airgordon:

I would like to say that everyone seriously supporting The Dark Knight to win Best Picture at the Oscars is a fat loser.

Do not pass Go.  Do not collect $200.   Go straight to 7-11, pick up a Mega Gulp of Mountain Dew and a bag of Cheetos, then go to your basement and masturbate over photoshopped nudes of Hayden Panettiere.  I mean Christ, people, it was an entertaining movie and Heath Ledger was great and the score was epic, but just because the Academy sometimes rewards undeserving movies doesn’t mean that should be the rule.

Fuck you, this is non-negotiable.

Thank you! Feel free to pass Go and collect $200.

AOL, you're doing it wrong.

Most web users over 20 years old were introduced to instant messaging by AOL’s pioneering service. But the wide range of chat options is making it harder to compete for instant messages, says David Liu, senior vice-president of AOL People Networks. “Activity [in AIM] is going down because of all the different sites available,” Liu says. “So we’re working on making AIM more social and viral.”

Facebook’s Chatting Toolbar

One way AOL hopes to do that is by linking AIM to the company’s social networking site, Bebo. In early 2009, AOL plans to unveil an IM dashboard that travels with Bebo users from page to page. The selling point: Every one of AIM’s 30 million users will get instant access to a Bebo profile page that’s already set up with their “buddy list.”

STAND WITH THE PEOPLE OF CONGO → avaaz.org

The people of Congo need our help. They are being terrorised - murder and rape are rife, hundreds of thousands have fled their homes caught between the brutal violence of both rebels and the Congolese army, without food or shelter.

No-one but Europe can deploy a well-equipped, neutral force in the next two weeks. There’s no military solution but a neutral force in the region to protect civilians, helping to reconstruct the UN peacekeeping presence and putting real diplomatic pressure on Congo and neighbouring countries will greatly boost our chances of stopping this humanitarian crisis and starting to build a lasting peace. Serious European engagement alongside UN and African officials is needed and lacking, and the people of Congo need it now - sign the petition and spread the word.

Requisite celebrity musician update

Kevin Costner & Modern West have a new album coming out on Universal South tomorrow, entitled Untold Truths.

Consensus: Generic garbage that only would get a major to release if someone famous(-ish, when is the last time a film of his made money?) were involved.

Also, Best of Hillary Duff also sees release. It features a new single called “Reach Out,” which will have Rihanna reaching out to her lawyers because of Duff’s atrocious aping.

Rush Limbaugh on his show moments ago, speaking to “moderate” Republicans he refers to as “Democrat-lite” that he wants to cast out of the Republican party. (via cajunboy)

When did stupidity become a virtue, and intelligence became a mark of shame?

Oh right it didn’t.

Move over John Melendez, Rush Limbaugh is the new hero of the stupid.

Do Republicans actually subscribe to this garbage that he spews? I honestly feel sorry for you if you do.
